But before you enter, read this…

  • Your story should be unpublished.
  • Your story must not be submitted to any other competition or publication before the publication of the shortlist. If your story is shortlisted, you must not publish it until after the publication of the Brighton Prize Anthology 2019.
  • You can withdraw your story until July 1st 2018. After that, we can’t allow you to withdraw your story, as it may have been shortlisted.
  • You’ll be offered a cash prize if you are a winner or runner-up.
  • If you are a winner or runner-up, you must agree to the publication of your story in our anthology to be published in 2019.
  • If your name or any other identifying information is included with your story itself (rather than on the entry form), it will be disqualified automatically.

Almost all questions relating to the prize are covered in the terms and conditions. We can’t answer queries that are addressed by the terms and conditions, so make sure you read them.
